Dwarka (The Land Of Lord Krishna)

(Map of  Dwarka)

Dwarka is believed to be civilized by Lord Krishna and hence it is also called Dev Bhoomi Dwarka, this is one of the place where i love to visit again and again, this place is very well designed contains excellent combination of Natural beauty and modernization. Some of the pictures are posted in this blog. While visiting Dwarka keep in mind the time to travel this place by my point of view the best time to visit this place is the month of December as during this time the climate will be cool and you'll definitely enjoy. The original Dwarka is sunken in the sea because of the curse of Gandhari (Mother of Kauravas) to Krishna after the war of Mahabharata was over.

Main Attraction of Dwarka are:-

1)   Beyt Dwarka
2)   Gopi Talav
3)   Nageshwar Jyotirlinga
4)   Swaminarayan Mandir
5)   Gomti Ghat
6)   Sudama Setu
8)   Rukmini Mandir
9)   Sunset Point
10) Scuba Diving Spot

Beyt Dwarka is around 40 Kms from the main Dwarka, Beyt Dwarka situated near Okha its in the Arabian Sea to reach Beyt Dwarka we have to travel by ferries, Beyt Dwarka is a small island surrounded all sides by the Arabian Sea. It is believed that the journey if Dwarka is not completed until you visit Beyt Dwarka.

Near to Gopi Talav there is a temple where a floating stone is placed at the exit of the temple, it is believed that this is one of the stone which was used by Lord Rama while he was making a stone bridge to Sri Lanka to kill Ravan the king of Shri Lanka to free Mata Sita who was abducted.

A beautiful corridor was constructed by the side of River Gomti at Gomti ghat. A new Cable Bridge is constructed on the River Gomti which is also called as Sudama Setu, after crossing Sudama Setu you'll reach on the other side where a new Scuba Diving Spot is started to attract the travelers all around the world. Dwarka has the first Jyotirlinga "The Nageshwar Jyotirlinga" and it is considered as the first of all the shrines (Jyotirlinga's)

Recommendation: Dear friends the best sequence to visit the whole Dwarka and all nearby places is what i'm telling you here the best is to stay in Dwarka for 2 days and 1 night. Plan your travel so that you reach Dwarka early morning, Start your day by worshiping Lord Krishna at the Dwarkadhish Temple then set out for Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Gopi Talav and then for Byet Dwarka, if you like then you can take a while till the evening and enjoy the marine beauty there and then get back to main Dwarka city and enjoy the evening there. Next Day visit local market and places nearby like Shree Rukmini Mandir and Sudama Setu and the Dwarka beach till the evening but don't forget to reach the Sunset Point before the sunset spend some time there say good bye to the setting sun and then take your dinner and leave for your next destination (Porbandar Beach).
